- The Institute for Medical & Health Humanities and Artistic Research is an affiliated institute of the Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen/University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HKS), Ottersberg. As a research institution, it cooperates with the HKS on several levels: there are many connections between the university and the affiliated institute in terms of content, methodology and personnel as well as in research and teaching.
- The Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen, Ottersberg looks back on a history of more than 50 years, which began in 1967 with the founding of the independent art study center. The Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen, Ottersberg is a state-approved university of applied sciences and arts. Europe-wide it is one of the largest training centers for art therapy. It is is a place of comprehensive artistic and artistic-applied education and training. The university offers four bachelor’s degree programs leading to a professional qualification: Social Work, Art in Social. Art Therapy, Dance and Theatre in the Social. Dance and Theater Pedagogy, and Liberal Fine Arts.
